June Garden Walk

A few highlights from my June garden.

Daisies blooming under the pergola.

Strange looking flower on Sanguisorba 'Pink Tanna'.

Hydrangeas look their best ever.

Even though it's a pesky reseeder, I do enjoy borage flowers.

Blueberries turning blue!  It won't be long now.

Love this color.

Poppies are drying, and awaiting a craft project.

Olives still look good, despite the cool and wet weather.

Hope the birds don't find these beauties.

Delphiniums at Van Dusen Gardens

The delphiniums at Van Dusen Gardens, Vancouver, B.C.,
are spectacular.  This is a garden not to miss.

Geranium 'Rozanne'

Geranium 'Rozanne' is starting to bloom.
I think the flowers and leaves nicely contrast each other.
It's my favorite perennial geranium.

Heavenly Sunlight

Heavenly sunlight, heavenly sunlight,
Flooding my soul with glory divine:
Hallelujah, I am rejoicing,
Singing His praises,
Jesus is mine.

'Bleu Magenta' Rose

This beautiful rambler is spectacular in bloom.
I would have one if space allowed.
What a treat to see it growing in a local city park.

Red Poppies

Don't you just love red poppies?
To me, they are the quintessential summer cottage flower.

Happy weekend!

Enjoying the Sunshine

It was a good day to enjoy the sunshine, as rain is expected tomorrow.
And it feels so good.

Sweet William (Dianthus barbatus)

Happy first day of summer
(or winter, if you live in the southern hemisphere).

Sweet William is happily blooming
 throughout the neighborhood.
Don't you love the variety of colors?

The last one is my favorite.

You Are My All in All

Skagway, Alaska

You are my strength when I am weak.
You are the treasure that I seek.
You are my all in all.

Seeking You as a precious jewel,
Lord to give up I'd be a fool.
You are my all in all.

Tsunami Debris

Debris from the Japanese tsunami
is now washing up on our beaches.
This floating dock crossed the Pacific ocean
in just over one year.  Amazing.

Open Garden, 2008

Four years ago tomorrow, we hosted an open garden.
Several hundred guests toured our back yard.
It was a lot of fun and a lot of work.
And the plants all behaved wonderfully.
