This morning, I opened a jar of toothpicks,

and observed this interesting pattern.

I wish it would stop raining so I could plant

my dahlias.  Poor things are starting to

sprout in their packages.

A New Quilt

I'm thinking about starting a new quilt.

Fabrics have been selected.

Still working on the design.

Yesterday was a lovely day at the beach. 

 So lovely that I forgot to post.

So here it is, a day late.

Spring Wonderland

Yes, it's a winter spring wonderland.  And it's

melting fast.

Late last night as the snow was falling.

This morning found the bleeding hearts

surviving the weather.

Ice on the pussy willows.

Lilac buds showing some color.

Stock tanks well insulated.



A Pitiful Sight

All of my daffodils have toppled over

under the weight of snow. 

Springtime in Oregon is an adventure!

Pulmonaria 'Polar Splash'

Blooming in the garden today is

Pulmonaria 'Polar Splash'.  The flowers have

just started to open and should make a good

show in a week or two.



The Baby Chicks Have Arrived!

The chicks have arrived at a local farm supply store, a sure

sign of spring.  This little one was very interested

in my camera.

It would be fun to bring home several chicks,

but they are not allowed in my neighborhood.  And the

cat would probably want to eat them.

This variety was very shy. 

Scruffy looking when they start to get their feathers.

What A Day That Will Be

Mount Rainier, Washington

Tired of the Rain

Elsie is really tired of the rain,

and so am I.

This weekend I hope to sneak outside

(between showers) for a little gardening.

And enjoy the daffodils, inside.

Crown of Thorns

Euphorbia millii (Crown of Thorns) is blooming

indoors.

There are 25 blooms on one plant.

With lots more "in development".
